Both BMI Redland and BMI Icopal projects were recognised for roofing excellence at the NFRC (National Federation of Roofing Contractors) UK Roofing Awards 2023 at the 12th May ceremony. The prestigious event recognises and rewards outstanding standards of roofing workmanship and covers the full spectrum of roofing disciplines.
This year our customers were winners in both flat and pitched roofing categories. Fulwood Roofing won the Industry Choice award for Stockport School in collaboration with Redland. MAC Roofing won the Bituminous Hot Applied Liquid Waterproofing category and Progressive Systems Ltd won the Reinforced Bitumen Membranes category, both in collaboration with Icopal.
Let's take a closer look at the award-winning projects.
Fulwood Roofing, in collaboration with Redland, has been honoured with the esteemed Industry Choice Award for their remarkable re-roofing project at Stockport School, Greater Manchester. The project showcased the exemplary workmanship and the successful utilization of BMI Redland's SpecMaster service and Rosemary Clay Classic system. Despite facing various challenges, such as century-old wooden timbers, and the need for UV degradation protection, on the 24 roofs of the school, Fulwood Roofing's ingenuity and the support from BMI Redland ensured a successful outcome.
Progressive Systems Ltd, a trusted roofing contractor, partnered with BMI Icopal for the technically demanding flat roof project at Launceston College. The expansion of the campus included the construction of a Science and Technology building with 13 laboratories. Progressive Systems Ltd relied on BMI Icopal's expertise and solutions to overcome challenges such as working on a live site, incorporating tapered insulation, and preserving flat roof access doors. The collaboration resulted in the specification of the Thermaweld FireSmart System, ensuring weatherproof roofing without compromising insulation.
Heatherwood Hospital, a new planned care facility in Frimley Health, was the recipient of a prestigious NFRC award in the "Bituminous Hot Applied Liquid Waterproofing" category. The project, contracted to MAC and supported by BMI Icopal, showcased their expertise in delivering a high-quality roofing solution. With a focus on sustainability and environmental performance, the hospital's roofing system utilized BMI Icopal's Parabit Solo Hot Melt, Universal Membrane, and Elastoflex cold applied waterproofing. The project's success was a testament to the collaboration between MAC, BMI Icopal, and the commitment to delivering efficient and sustainable roofing solutions.
