Maerdy Social Housing with Renown
The Project
This major refurbishment project required 96 properties on the Maerdy estate in Rhondda, South Wales to have a new roofing solution with a system guarantee, technical reassurance and secure fixing throughout.
Trivallis Surveyors specified the BMI Redland Renown tile, as it provides a contemporary feel, and is efficient to install with superb wind and driving rain performance.
Fixed with nails throughout, the tiles were reinforced on the first 6 courses with BMI Redland’s Innofix Clip to guard against high winds. The Innofix Clip is a multi-award winning revolutionary tool-free tile clip. Simple to fix, and quicker to install than a regular nail, and it is suitable for all UK exposures under the BS 5534:2014 standard.

Developed for architects and specifiers, the SpecMaster specification tool covers every detail of a complete roofing solution; from tiling, performance and compliance, to the British Standards. During installation, the BMI Redland Specification Manager visited the site regularly to inspect the quality of work and provide additional technical support.
