Your safety is important. Do not attempt to measure the roof dimensions unless you are a trained professional:

All work on roofs is dangerous, even if a job only takes a few minutes. Those carrying out the work must be trained professionals, competent and instructed in use of the processes and precautions required. If you don’t know the measurements of the roof that you require a PV calculation for, please use estimated measurements (taken from ground level) for an approximate output, and share your Project Plan with a trained professional. Alternatively, you can instruct a trained professional to provide detailed measurements for your roof.
